  • Developed online registration process for Chandra X-ray Center-sponsored conferences, and generated private registration statistic pages for administration teams.
  • Re-designed Chandra X-ray Center meeting websites with responsive design techniques. Updated static pages of astronomical targets observed by Chandra with modern, interactive features, including sorting/searching/saving capabilities.

Teaching Assistant - Dynamic Web Applications

  • Held weekly review sessions of course material and classwork troubleshooting for students. Provided additional guidance through an online forum and chat service.
  • Graded student submissions, provided feedback and suggested improvements on code, interface, usability and errors for web applications written in PHP and Laravel.
  • Course topics included: server configuration, version control with Git, databases and CRUD operations, user authentication, and modern web development best practices.

  • Led students in outdoor astronomy labs. Introduced students to the concepts of telescope design, instructed students on how to use astronomical equipment for public observing and the acquisition of data for astronomical research.

  • Ran labs for undergraduate astronomy majors designed to teach them about the solar system, historical astronomical discoveries, the nature of the EM spectrum, astronomical observing, the expansion of the universe and the cosmos at large.

  • Thesis: Probing Our Heliospheric History. High-resolution optical spectroscopic analysis of Interstellar Medium absorption in the direction of the Sun’s historical trajectory over the past 40 million years.
  • Research Project: Drifting Sub-Pulses in Radio Pulsars (Completed while working as an intern at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory). Fast Fourier Transform analysis of radio signals from pulsating neutron stars to study underlying vibrational modes in neutron stars to further understand their interior structures.

Bachelor of Science: Physics

  • Thesis: Semi-Regular Variable Stars. Observed two SR pulsating stars for two years in multiple wavelengths. Reduced and analyzed all data, found evidence of a previously undetected lag in pulsations between wavelengths.
